Member Spotlight | Reframe Remodels | feat. Kaleigh Canavan
Meet Kaleigh Canavan, founder of Reframe Remodels, a woman-owned remodeling company making waves across the Denver metro area. As a general contractor, Kaleigh is on a mission to take the stress (and chaos) out of renovations—bringing structure, clear communication, and a steady hand to every project. Whether it’s a kitchen refresh, a full home transformation, or a commercial space upgrade, she’s the kind of pro who makes the process feel approachable, organized, and even exciting. Around Thrive, she’s known not just for her expertise, but for being a thoughtful collaborator and go-to resource for all things remodeling.
THRIVE: Tell us about your business. What do you do, who do you serve, and what problem do you love solving?
KALEIGH: I’m the founder and general contractor at Reframe Remodels, a woman-owned remodeling company based in the Denver metro area. We specialize in residential renovations, including kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and aging-in-place updates, and we recently expanded our licensing to take on commercial projects as well.
We serve homeowners and businesses who want a renovation done thoughtfully and professionally, without the chaos that often comes with construction. Many of our clients are looking for a trusted advocate to guide them through the process, keep communication clear, and ensure the details are handled correctly.
What I love most is bringing structure and clarity to complex projects. Remodeling has a lot of moving parts, and my role is to coordinate those pieces so clients can feel confident and excited about the transformation of their space.
THRIVE: What inspired you to start or grow your business? Was there a moment that pushed you to go for it?
KALEIGH: Before starting Reframe Remodels, I worked with a company that showed me exactly how not to run projects—poor communication, cutting corners, and treating clients like they were just another job. That experience made it clear to me that homeowners deserved better.
I started Reframe Remodels to create the kind of remodeling company I wished existed: one that prioritizes transparency, quality, and genuine advocacy for the client. That mindset has continued to drive the growth of the business as we’ve expanded our capabilities and recently added commercial projects to the work we take on.
THRIVE: How has being part of Thrive impacted your work or business? Has anything surprised you about the community?
KALEIGH: Being part of Thrive has been a really positive experience for both my business and my personal network. As a general contractor, a lot of my work normally happens on job sites, so having a professional workspace and a community of other entrepreneurs has been incredibly valuable.
What’s surprised me most is how genuinely supportive the community is. People aren’t just sharing office space—they’re collaborating, referring business to each other, and celebrating each other’s wins. That kind of environment makes running a business feel a lot less solitary.
THRIVE: What does your ideal workday look like at Thrive?
KALEIGH: My ideal workday at Thrive usually starts with coffee and catching up with whoever is around before diving into emails, estimates, and project planning for the day. It’s a nice balance between focused work and the kind of spontaneous conversations that only happen in a coworking space.
The reality of being a general contractor is that my day might also include hopping on calls with clients, coordinating trades, or running out to a job site—but Thrive is where I get the “thinking work” done.
And one of my favorite parts is the unexpected moments: someone stopping by with a question, a quick brainstorming session that turns into a collaboration, or finding out there’s karaoke happening later that night. It keeps work from feeling too serious all the time.
THRIVE: What’s one business lesson you’ve learned recently? Something other members might benefit from hearing.
KALEIGH: One lesson I’ve learned recently is that clarity saves everyone time and stress. Whether it’s with clients, collaborators, or your own team, being very clear about expectations, scope, and communication upfront prevents a lot of problems later.
In remodeling—and honestly in any business—most issues don’t come from bad intentions, they come from misunderstandings. Taking the time to slow down, document things, and make sure everyone is aligned has made my projects run smoother and my workdays a lot less chaotic.
THRIVE: Who would be a great referral or connection for you?
KALEIGH: A great referral for me is a homeowner or business owner who is thinking about remodeling but isn’t quite sure where to start. If someone mentions updating a kitchen, renovating a bathroom, finishing a basement, or improving a commercial space, that’s usually a great conversation for me.
I’m also always happy to connect with realtors, property managers, interior designers, and small business owners who need a reliable contractor they can confidently refer to their clients. Remodeling works best when it’s a team effort, so great professional partners are just as valuable as great projects.
THRIVE: What’s something most people don’t know about you or your business? Fun fact encouraged.
KALEIGH: Something most people don’t know is that construction is actually my third career. Prior to this I was an accountant for over a decade, but my first career was in the music industry, where I spent about six years working concerts constantly—on average 4 per week—and meeting a lot of artists along the way.
These days my life involves job sites, estimates, and remodeling plans instead of backstage passes, but the fast-paced environment probably prepared me well for construction. And one fun fact about the business: my favorite part of visiting job sites is meeting clients’ pets. They’re usually the most enthusiastic members of the project team.
THRIVE: What tool, habit, or routine helps you stay productive? Bonus points if it works inside Thrive.
KALEIGH: One thing that really helps me stay productive is time blocking. Remodeling involves a lot of moving parts—site visits, client communication, estimates, and coordinating trades—so I try to dedicate specific blocks of time to focused work.
Thrive is perfect for that because I can sit down for a couple of hours and work through proposals, budgets, and planning without the distractions that can come with being on job sites all day. It’s where a lot of the behind-the-scenes work that keeps projects running smoothly actually gets done.
THRIVE: Where can members connect with you?
KALEIGH: The best place to learn more about my work is www.reframeremodels.com, and you can also find Reframe Remodels on social media where I share project updates and remodeling tips.
If someone wants to connect directly, I’m always happy to chat about a project or answer questions about remodeling. Members can reach me at [email protected] or just come say hi if you see me around Thrive Centennial!
