Member Spotlight | Dashing Maids & Mountains of Laundry feat. Ashley Matuska
Ashley, founder of Dashing Maids, has spent over 13 years delivering eco-friendly and high-quality cleaning services that save clients time and support a healthier home environment. This year, she launched her second venture, Mountains of Laundry, expanding her mission to include sustainable laundry solutions for individuals and small businesses. A huge congrats to Ashley on the success of Dashing Maids, and her new business, Mountains of Laundry!

Thrive: Tell us about what your company does.

Ashley: Dashing Maids and Mountains of Laundry are dedicated to saving people and businesses time while delivering high-quality, eco-friendly cleaning and laundry services. We focus on processes and products that our clients can feel good about, ensuring homes and businesses stay clean, healthy, and organized.

Thrive: How long have you been in business?

Ashley: Dashing Maids = 13 years; Mountains Of Laundry 1 year

Thrive: What inspired you to create your business?

Ashley: I wanted to create a company that people actually wanted to work with and work for. My vision was to save people time, deliver a truly green service in the home cleaning and laundry industries, and build a strong, positive workplace culture.

Thrive: What was your biggest success in the past year?

Ashley: Starting my second time-saving company, Mountains of Laundry, to better serve our current clients and expand to small businesses has been a huge milestone.

Thrive: How has Thrive supported your business?

Ashley: Thrive has been a wonderful resource by providing professional spaces to hold interviews and team meetings. This has allowed me to grow my team and maintain a strong, professional presence.

Thrive: What recent challenge did you face?

Ashley: We discovered our payroll provider had been paying taxes to the wrong state for over two years. After taking a moment (or a few days!) to process the shock, I leaned on my team and network to quickly resolve the issue. We set up new systems to ensure mistakes like this don’t happen again.

Thrive: What’s your favorite piece of advice?

Ashley: “Hire slow, fire fast.” In the home services industry, you can’t afford to keep someone on the team who isn’t a good fit or someone you wouldn’t trust in your own home. We’ve built a thorough application and hiring process and set very clear expectations and policies. That way, if someone isn’t a good fit, there are no surprises when we part ways.

Thrive: What’s your favorite quote that would inspire other entrepreneurs and business leaders for 2025?

Ashley: “Don’t be afraid to start small. Be afraid of staying small-minded.”

This reminds me to think bigger, take risks, and not let fear hold me back from creating the impact I know is possible.
