Member Spotlight | Figured feat. Mitchell Parks
In agriculture, the right decisions depend on having the right information at the right time. Figured was built to make that possible. Founded in New Zealand and now supporting farming businesses across the globe, Figured is a cloud-based financial management platform designed specifically for agriculture. By bringing financial and production data together in one place, Figured helps farmers, advisors, accountants, and bankers gain clarity around breakevens, annual planning, and long-term succession—so they can make confident, informed decisions for the future of their farming businesses.
THRIVE: Tell us about what your company does.
MITCHELL: Figured is a cloud based financial management platform designed specifically for agriculture. Our company is from New Zealand, but we now have teams in Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom. We want to be able to support farmers, their advisors, accountants and bankers make the best decisions for the farming business with readily available financial and production information all in a single platform. Whether that’s understanding breakevens, having a plan for the year ahead or long term succession plans, our platform is designed to help answer those questions.
THRIVE: How long have you been in business?
MITCHELL: Figured was founded in New Zealand and has been around for a bit over 10 years, but we have had a presence in the USA for a little over 6 years. I’ve been with Figured for three and a half years. Before that I was an accountant, but I grew up on our family farm in southern New Zealand. I moved to Denver in May of 2024 and have been supporting our expansion in the USA.
THRIVE: What was your biggest success in the past year?
MITCHELL: Being able to grow our overall brand presence and awareness across the states. We have some awesome partners that we get to work with across the Midwest, it’s been a real highlight building a relationship with those partners and the farmers they support. We share a lot of common goals, it’s also great being able to take learnings in both New Zealand and the USA, common challenges and the different ways we can solve them.
THRIVE: How has Thrive supported your business?
MITCHELL: Thrive has given us a real community to spend our day to day with. While we spend a good amount of time on the road, Denver is home for our team of 4. It has given us a location to call home base when team members from New Zealand are visiting, but also the chance to interact and share time with other Thrive members. Being a small team, it gives us a much bigger sense of community. Just having someone else to share a coffee with or chat about sports has been awesome.
THRIVE: What’s your favorite piece of professional advice you’ve received?
MITCHELL: Making sure you have a really deep understanding of your customers and partners, the challenges they face and how they connect with their people. This means you can tailor your solution to each individual and really help them out with the challenges they face. Everyone has unique challenges, and a one size fits all approach is not going to be a way to guarantee scale or engaging and growth driven relationships. In our business, that means a lot of time upfront learning about the business, what’s important to them, challenging them on potentially different ways to do things and finally tailoring a solution that benefits everyone.
THRIVE: What’s your favorite quote that would inspire other entrepreneurs and business leaders for 2025?
MITCHELL: Nothing ventured, nothing gained. It’s a simple one, but I think it gets to the point!
